The project in brief

In the summer of 2019 the Fire-Kill Atrium system was installed in connection with the installation of a large wooden boat-like ceiling structure in the newly renovated Fourways Mall in Johannesburg.

The wooden structure is flammable, and an effective fire protection solution was therefore requested. This was a concern to the architect who was worried that the pipes of a fire fighting system would affect the architecture. To meet both needs the Fire-Kill low-pressure watermist Atrium system was chosen.

Why was a VID Fire-Kill solution chosen?

  •  A firefighting system that blends in with the surroundings
  •  The system does not affect the characteristics of the architecture

Some specifics

The system’s nozzles and pipes are hidden on top and on the sides of the structure.
