The VID Fire-Kill Model B1 Hudson & Bengal open low pressure watermist nozzles are designed for bilge area protection in engine rooms where Class B fuels collect and create an enormous potential fire load. Model B1 Hudson & Bengal nozzles size and manufacturing principle makes them a very robust and reliable piece of firefighting equipment for areas where a lot of dirt and waste fuels ends up. In case of fire the Model B1 Bengal nozzles utilize 1% AFFF foam enhancement throughout the entire activation period, where Model B1 Hudson will require 1% AFFF foam enhancement 7 minutes after system activation.

Approval

The Model B1 Hudson & Bengal nozzles are MED Approved by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) to IMO MSC/Circ. 1165 “Bilge tests” together with 1% AFFF. Model B1 Hudson was tested with a bilge area height of 1m whereas Model B1 Bengal was tested with a bilge height of 1.1m. Both where tested with a nozzle position at 0.3m and 0.6m measured from the floor.

Scope

Together with 1% AFFF the Model B1 Hudson & Bengal nozzles can be used in areas where a lot of Class B fuel is collected in pools such as in bilge areas. The Model B1 Hudson & Bengal nozzles shall always be installed between 0.3 and 0.6m above floor height, and can maximum cover bilge heights up to 1m (1.1m for Bengal).
